West Woodhay village Church is a few hundred yards from the House, over the lake and just beyond the entrance to the Main Car Park, and this church will be open to visitors as usual, but the site of the earlier village churches still exists by the corner of the House, the foundations transformed as they are now into part of the Garden.
Everyone is invited to join us here for our Festival Praise in the Garden on Sunday morning, which this year will feature as guest speaker Jon Snow.
We’re meeting on the site of the old church at 10.30am on the 15th. The music will be led by the Watership Brass Band together with the children of our three local primary schools. Our readings, poetry and prose, will reflect the glorious beauty of our surroundings, and the Rector and her team will lead our prayerful thoughts and reflections. We are thrilled that Jon Snow can join us this year.
Though we’re outside, we do have seats but come early if you want to be sure of having one – last year it was standing room only, as it’s a favourite way to start Sunday at the Festival! Either come through the gateway from the front of the House – on the left as you are looking at it – or from the other side, past the (covered!) swimming pool.
