We are the largest Charity Garden Show in the
Thames Valley, having developed from 2000 visitors in June 2005 to a
one day trial show, to some 10,000 that came through the gates in June 2007 at a
two day show. Our 2007 Show
was immensely successful, much enjoyed by our visitors and it substantially increased the
amounts raised for our charities.
Our next show dates will be:
19th June 2009 - our Gala Evening by invitation
only
20th-21st June 2009 - the public days
We are taking bookings for trade
stands, and we are pleased to announce that the
Berks, Bucks and Oxon area of
NAFAS, the National Association
of Flower Arranging Societies, will hold its 2009 show at West Woodhay,
and that Newbury Agricultural Society has arranged that its 100th
birthday balloon rally will also come to West Woodhay.

As before, there will be a Schools competition, this time entitled
"Butterfly Barrel", there will be an Art Show, sponsored by
Messrs Dreweatt Neate, who will also be providing an antiques and
art identification service in the marquee, and a Silent Auction, organised by
Rotary. We expect 100 Trade Stands,
and again the lovely gardens of
West Woodhay House will be
open for all to see. We are
hoping for 15,000 visitors through the gates, and we hope that BBC
Radio Berkshire will be broadcasting from the Gardens for much of the
weekend.
These private Gardens are
not normally open to the public, so the show offers a wonderful opportunity to
view this magnificent gem of Berkshire,
with its extensive gardens including a Rose Garden and a Walled Garden,
and five lakes and an Arboretum. Please see the House
and Gardens pages for more details and
photographs.
Please look at the "Programme" page of this
site for more detail. |
| There
will be masses of food and refreshment available in the Gardens - please
see the programme page for detail; visitors may
NOT bring snacks and drinks with them into the
Gardens but may picnic in the carpark areas if they wish - the main
carpark will have substantial space. We do ask visitors bringing
picnics to take away with them any bottles and litter as we have
limited refuse collecting resources.
With regret we have to say "no dogs" this time (even on a lead), with the
exception of Guide Dogs.
Please see also the websites of our "sister"
shows at Little
Bentley Hall which ran a very successful show on 1st-3rd June 2007, Abbots
Ripton Hall, Huntingdon, first show held on 21st-22nd June 2008 and
Stradsett Hall, Downham Market,
where a show will be held on 3rd-5th July 2009.
