FLOWERS, FLOWERS AND MORE FLOWERS!
Do you like to see flowers beautifully arranged? Then be sure to visit our
two marquees where the finest floral artists from the counties of Berks, Bucks
and Oxon are competing in a show with the overall title of GOLDEN FANFARE.
Here
you will see a feast of styles, both traditional and contemporary, under titles
including The Midas Touch, Golden Oldies, Golden Glow and An Age of Romance.
There is even a competition for the best fascinator (though I doubt you would
want to wear any of these to that special wedding!).
Why the concentration on
gold? Because 2009 is the 50th anniversary of our parent organisation NAFAS and
flower clubs all over the UK are celebrating with flower festivals and
demonstrations, in many cases raising funds for local and national charities. We
hold our competitions at various locations across the three counties. This year
it is staged within the West Woodhay Garden Show and what better venue could we
have?
If you like what you see, why not visit our media table where you can get
information on clubs near you? There are 56 flower arranging clubs in the Berks,
Bucks and Oxon area. Whether you want to compete in local shows, improve your
skills in arranging church flowers, or you just want to sit and watch
professional demonstrators, you will find like-minded members in your local club
who will give you a warm welcome. WE WILL EVEN GIVE YOU A VOUCHER FOR A FREE
VISIT TO YOUR LOCAL CLUB
Prizegiving will be on the Sunday afternoon.
