In 2005 we hosted an exhibition of
sculpture, paintings and drawings in the marquee and around the garden; many of
the works were made specifically for, or inspired by, the landscape, and they
were selected to show a variety of approaches and materials, including bronze,
glass, steel, wood, oil paint and watercolour. In 2007 our Art Show was in two
parts, One featuring painting drawing sculpture and
photography in the marquee; the boards were sponsored
by Raven Audley Inglewood Ltd, the company redeveloping Inglewood on the
outskirts of the nearby village of Kintbury, and the second other
again using the features of the gardens to display some major sculptures. We
also had a portrait painter, Ross Cuthbert, working in the Garden on the
Sunday.

For 2009 Messrs Dreweatts have again
kindly agreed to sponsor the Art Show as the "Dreweatt Fine Art
Marquee", and to provide
an identification service for antiques and paintings with visitors bringing items to the marquee.
The invitations for this show will go out later this summer; we look
forward to improving on our 2007 show, one that itself was much enjoyed, and
lived up to its billing as a major focal point for visitors. |
